We are so excited to introduce our specialty workshops!
6:30 pm ET*: Virtual class opens on the Zoom** platform — 7:00 pm ET: Live painting instruction begins – materials not included, but supply list is listed below.
Have you always been interested in portrait painting, but felt completely intimidated and had no idea where to start?
In this 2 hour workshop, artist and educator Robyn Thompson Duong will take you through the stages to developing a portrait painting in acrylic on canvas using the Zorn palette.
You will learn how to tone your canvas and create an under painting to establish a value map. Robyn will walk you through measuring techniques that will ensure that you get accurate proportions and a good structure to your portrait.
Next we will explore color and learn how to mix and create various skin tones.
After the workshop you will have tools to use to create a portrait painting which you are proud of.
**Zoom is an online platform that hosts virtual meetings (and, in this case, amazing painting classes). Zoom link information will be included in your confirmation email. Class recordings will be sent out by the end of the following business day.
We use acrylic paint which may stain your clothes. Although our painting activity is not extremely messy, we still recommend wearing clothing you wouldn’t mind getting paint on.
